Note 1: Driving. Clear-to-Dark lenses do not darken in cars as you are not exposed to direct sunlight.  So sunglasses are still best for your daily commute. 

Note 2: Lens Darkness. Clear-to-Dark lenses darken to 60% grey, which is not as dark as sunglasses (70% grey).  So if you are playing a round of golf, sunglasses would be ideal.
